Check Checker

Looking for an economic way for your tellers to spot check fraud before they take the check? Look no further than Check Checker, one of the first preventative check fraud software solutions.

Check Checker is designed to assist your front-line staff in identifying fraudulent checks by validating the routing number in real-time against a continuously updated list from the Federal Reserve. In addition to retrieving pertinent information from the Federal Reserve, such as institution name, city, state, and the Federal Reserve district, the program also searches all publicly available sources online for fraud alerts. In most widespread fraud cases, the FDIC, or similar body, will issue press releases about the fraud activity.

Sounds good, but how hard is it to use and how much does it cost? Implementation of the product is radically simple: a specific URL, or web address, is provided to each client for use across the organization. All the end user will need is the link and access to a web browser. They simply click on the link, enter the routing number, and the results are displayed immediately. And licensing is equally as simple: $1 per million in asset size. A $50M CU, for example, will only pay $50 a month. A $750M CU will only pay $750 a month. (By the way, we max it out at $1000. So if you are over $1B in assets, you’ll never pay more than $1000 a month no matter how many people are using the system.) No complicated pricing schemes, user licenses, transaction costs, or maintenance fees to deal with. Just one simple URL that anyone at your institution can use is all you need.
